Last #TravelTuesday I shared about our trip to Key West and how, while it was a great trip and fun place to visit, the beaches just didn't live up to my expectations. I also happened to mention that Bahia Honda State Park is home to several beaches that are an absolute must-see if you're visiting the keys!  This #TravelTuesday is all about Bahia Honda State Park! This park has it all - exquisite beaches, kayak rentals, excellent snorkeling, fishing, a small trail, a historic bridge, breathtaking views, bathrooms and showers to rinse off sand, and a snack shack! You can even...

Tim and I took our first trip to the Florida Keys recently and it was absolutely breathtaking! We were able to explore most of the island of Key West within a few days, and I am so excited to share our experience with you!  The best way for me to break down our trip is in three categories; Duval St./Mallory Square, beaches, and sunsets. Key West is known for its boating and fishing, but since it was our first visit, we decided to just spend our time exploring. Next time we visit the keys, we will definitely want to do...

With father's day right around the corner, I decided this #TravelTuesday I'd reminisce on a fishing trip I took with my dad last year. It was literally the best father/daughter day EVER! We decided to book a 12 hour deep sea party boat trip and found one through Galveston Party Boats Inc. (https://www.galvestonpartyboatsinc.com/). It cost $90 per person, and as is customary with party boats, it included use of a fishing rod, bait, and a crew who assisted us throughout the day. If you book one of these trips, remember to bring cash to tip the crew members!   The...

A few weekends ago, Tim and I decided to check out the hiking trails at Stump Beach State Park in Englewood, FL. It's an area of land that juts out with Lemon Bay on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. It has a pass on the end with what we heard would be sparkling clear, shallow waters - more on that in a minute. We had heard that it's a great trail with birds to see along the way (it's a federally protected bird sanctuary) and the high possibility of spotting some manatee and dolphin in...

Tim and I have spent the past TWO weekends at South Lido Park - YES it's that great! South Lido Park offers everything you need for a day of fun in the sun! They have ample parking, clean bathrooms, and a foot washing station - big plusses for me! They also have picnic tables, charcoal grills, and a volley ball court in the park area beneath the trees - great for throwing a birthday party or grilling out with friends! But, the best part, IMO, is of course... THE BEACH! South Lido Park is located at the southernmost tip of Lido Key....
